The mighty Etna volcano, beautiful Greek cities like Syracuse and Taormina and beautiful beaches on the coast, Sicily has it all, especially when it comes to food. The combination of the warm climate and the enormous attention to preserving old traditions proves to be ideal for producing wonderful flavours.
Whether it's a delicious mineral-rich wine from Mount Etna in a wine bar in Palermo, a seafood pasta on the quay of Syracuse or a granita (famous Sicilian sorbet ice cream) on a terrace in Catania, “la dolce vita” seems to be invented here. This feeling is difficult to import of course, but with a delicious olive oil from the western flank of Mount Etna, wines from the area between Palermo and Trapani and artisanal pasta from the area of Corleone, we will try it anyway.
