Financially, Calabria is the poorest part of Italy. But when you consider quality of life, it is perhaps one of the richest places on earth. Here, you’ll find beautiful mountains, fantastic beaches, historic hilltop villages and a fantastic climate, but above all extremely hospitable, proud people who enjoy family, good food and delicious wine. Calabria is the place where you can be invited by strangers to join them at their dinner table for a self-foraged porcini mushroom pasta with side of homegrown vegetables.

For decades, the development of Calabria has been weighed down by, as the Calabrians call it: “certain forces in politics and business” that do not benefit from development. As a result, the people in this region are in many ways left to themselves. It has led to an enormous sense of community and an eye for tradition, which is all about enjoying the little things. Eating and drinking play a crucial role here. We would like to introduce you to some fantastic Calabrian wineries and a great olive oil producer, but we hope to be able to offer many more from this beautiful region in the future!
