The white baron
Tenute Pacelli's Barone Bianco honors the family's history. The label on the bottle shows the old baron Gaetano La Costa, a noble landlord who used the estate near the vineyards of Pacelli as a country house for hunting. It is the baron who planted the vineyards of the Pacelli's, back then with international grape varieties. At the end of the last century, the old barons nephew, Francesco Pacelli, inherited the estate and decided to end his career as a lawyer to continue the family tradition of winemaking.
Francesco and Clara
Francesco and his wife Clara have replanted part of the vineyard with species native to Calabria. In addition, they have also planted Riesling in memory of the baron and the international grapes he loved so much. This has led to some beautiful wines such as this Barone Bianco.
Pacelli women
This wine, now produced by a strong team of Pacelli women, is organically grown. In this small but promising vineyard in the north of Calabria, a lot is still done by hand. The best grapes are carefully selected and vinified under the strict watchful eye of mother Clara and her daughters. The passion that goes with it yields the award-winning wines of Tenute Pacelli.
Great accidity and rich minerality
Barone Bianco is an uncomplicated wine. This bright yellow, almost amber-colored, organic wine has aromas of ripe summer fruits from sun-drenched Calabria. In the mouth, this wine has good acidity with a characteristic mineral taste of the limestone terroir. It is a juicy wine, fresh and elegant.
